Ethiopian Healthcare Federation (EHF) organized a meeting with the main health sector service providers in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH), Federal Food and Drug Authority (FFDA), Addis Ababa Food and Drug Authority, Addis Ababa Health Bureau and Mayor Office to strengthen the Public Private Partnership (PPP) in Ethiopia. A follow-up meeting was held at federation office meeting hall with Private Hospitals on January 29, 2022, with specialty clinics, medium clinics, and primary clinics on February 10, 2022 at Municipality theatre hall.
Another meeting was conducted with specialty centers on February 19, 2022, at the MOH meeting hall and with pharma importers and distributors on April 2, 2022 at the Municipality theatre hall. In all meeting sessions, a fund was also raised for northern Ethiopia’s conflict-affected areas’ health facilities rehabilitation.
In recent months, EHF represented Ethiopian Private Health Sector at three key meetings organized by the MOH to revise Primary Hospital Standards, General Hospital Standards, and Health Regulatory Standards 5 years Strategic Plan. During these deliberations, EHF provided inputs on health premise, product, professional and practice without compromising patient safety and quality, to make the service cost-effective and affordable by leveraging Ethiopian Private Healthcare Sector in the times ahead. Presently, EHF is planning similar other advocacy events with the MOH.
